AMMOLITE DESIGNER CABOCHON (Canada) – 8.30 ct.
# DCab 143
Ammolite is a fossillized shell that exhibits the same vivid spectral colors found in the finest precious opal. The cause of the colors is different than in opal but the visual impact is very similar. Found to date only in southern Canada and Northern Montana, this spectacular natural gem is rapidly gaining in popularity and esteem. This particular stone is a top gem specimen, displaying vivid scarlet and peacock green. It is entirely natural with no epoxy or triplet cap: just highly polished ancient shell. Weighs approx. 8.30 ct. and measures about 5.1 x 10.3 x 2.8 mm. (Some care, N)
