RHODOCHROSITE (“INCA ROSE”) DESIGNER CABOCHON (ARGENTINA) – 54.4 ct.

This designer cab with great shape and patterns was cut from classic Argentine Catamarca rhodochrosite purchased a long time ago. This patterned pink material is sometimes called “Inca Rose,” honoring its origin in ancient abandoned Inca silver mines where it forms in masses. Export of rough stone is now embargoed. High quality material is very scarce. Weight approx. 54.4 ct. Measurements approx. 31 x 26 x 5.4 mm. Polished on the back but there are a couple of small pits. (Some care, N)
