COLORFUL JASPER-AGATE CABOCHON (TEXAS, U.S.A.) – 71.82 ct. Oval

I cut this cabochon from one of the famous Alpine, TX plume agate “pancake” nodules collected years ago. I cut it for its pleasing bright contrasting colors, not plumes (but tiny black and dark gold plumes are easily visible with slight magnification). I was delighted to learn recently that this “heirloom” location on private property is still productive and open to collecting. This cab measures approx. 40 x 30 x 7 mm. High polish front and back and properly beveled for easy setting. (All uses, N)
