“SONORA SUNSET” DESIGNER CABOCHON (Mexico) – 23+ Ct.
Sonora Sunset is a marketing name for an exciting newly-introduced copper gem mineral discovered in Mexico. It consists of bright red cuprite (of the variety chalcotrichite, for the mineral people, who will also want to know it contains chrysocolla, malachite, plancheite and tenorite.) It’s extremely striking and lovely with its bold colors and patterns in blue, black and bright red. This stone in mainly blue-black hues weighs a bit over 23 ct. and measures approx. 20.2 x 25 x 5.5 mm. It’s cut with a high dome, is nicely polished front and back and is guaranteed untreated.
