AMMOLITE DESIGNER CABOCHON (Canada) – 10.45 ct.
Ammolite is a prehistoric fossil shell from ancient giant ammonites that exhibits the same kind of fiery colors found in fine precious opal. The cause of the colors is different than in opal but the visual impact is very similar. Found to date only in southern Canada and Northern Montana, this spectacular gem is rapidly gaining in popularity and esteem. This particular stone is a gem-grade specimen with intense green and red hues. It is entirely natural with no epoxy or triplet cap: just highly polished fossil shell. It weighs approx. 10.45 ct. and measures about 10.4 x 22.3 x 3.45 mm. (Some care, N)
