SAPPHIRE, RED/PINK (Ceylon) – 1.13 ct. (All uses, H, Type II)

This attractive cushion-cut natural gem grades magenta pink under my daylight standard lamp but appears more red in incandescent. Pink sapphire is a Type II gem under the GIA clarity system (some inclusions are normal). To my 20-20 corrected eyes it’s very close to eye-clean despite the cloud under the table in these greatly magnified images. It measures 6.45 x 5.85x 3.30 mm. Low heat only.
